Traditionally we celebrate our birthdays by going out to eat at a restaurant. We had been in Seattle for two days and had already eaten at some great restaurants. So I had my work cut out for me to find a place to eat that would make Ilene's birthday memorable. I figured that I couldn't go wrong with a seafood restaurant so I headed down to the water front hoping to find one looking out on the water. My instincts were spot on. We pulled into a parking lot next to a marina and there overlooking the water front was Anthony's. The views out on to the water were every bit as wonderful as the food.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart! |
After lunch we had one more garden to see in Seattle. After all that we had seen I was not sure if the trip out to Kubota Gardens was going to be worth it. From the little I read about it, I knew that it began when a self-taught gardener, Fujitaro Kubota, bought five acres of logged-off swampland in a small neighborhood on the outskirts of Seattle. I had my reservations about this one. What we found was a stunning twenty acres of hills, valleys, streams, waterfalls, ponds, rock out croppings and a rich and mature collection of plant material.
